Excuses for being over dressed for the occasion

I guess I'm a bit old fashioned.

We are British you know !

I came right from the office and didn't have time to change.

That part of the invitation was smudged. I thought it said something about your address, and I already know where you live, so didn't pay too much attention

My outplacement counselor says to be prepared for an interview at all times.

I'm writing a novel about Victorian England and it helps me write in the proper tone if I'm just a bit formal in my attire.

I haven't had a chance to wear this stuff in years and I thought I'd get it out just for a laugh.

I look so young that people don't take me seriously unless I have a power suit on.

I know I'm a bit overdressed, but I have to go from here to a very important meeting.

You never know when you might be abducted by aliens, and I want people from other planets to have a good impression of humans.

I've decided to revive the aristocracy, and the first step is to start dressing better.

You think this is overdressed ? You should see what I look like when I really want to make an impression.
